My View

Moving to Japan has been exhausting and challenging, but I’m getting my feet back on the ground. My stuff is being shipped via canoe and is still bouncing around on the Pacific somewhere. It’s not expected to arrive for about another month. My goodness. Don’t they have an damn engine on that boat? Anyway, things are going well. The rain stopped, and it’s much nicer and somewhat cooler. Also, I have a pretty nice view. Back in Menlo Park, I had an office on the 3rd floor, but I didn’t have a window. Which was fine, really. I didn’t care. But here in Japan, I’m in the gigantic Landmark Tower in Yokohama on the 19th floor. I have a cube for an office, but this is my window  …. pretty cool, eh?

  1. Awesome view, all the best with the move and settling into your new home. Tokyo is a very interesting place and I always enjoyed my trips there.

  2. Hey Jim. Congratulations on your move to Japan. Though I guess that means I won’t run into you as much….
Great view indeed. And is that a Ferris wheel in the bottom picture?!?!?

  3. Thanks, guys. 🙂 I have a *lot* more coming … and Dave I may take you up on that. This is nothing like anything I’ve ever experienced. I’m having fun, though. Everything new every day both personally and professionally.

  4. Actually, Jim, that *is* rather a cool view, now that you mention it. And I am vicariously enjoying your move to Japan too, and am eager to hear how your family gets along once you’re settled in. If you ever need anything from the states, just drop me a line… 🙂
