Minds

Watching people play with their phones or pads or laptops on the train is fascinating. They keep flitting back and forth between email, games, television, and social networks. Then they take a quick break and shut down and close their eyes. Then moments later they boot their best friend and bounce around some more. They never seem satisfied. They’re searching. Others read a little book in silence while never rolling their eyes off the page. And today that’s impressive. I notice someone reading a book mindfully all the time. So few can do that anymore. They barely move actually. Such focus. Others just listen to music or sleep. Observing the actions people project into their space gives a pretty good indication of what’s going on in their minds. It’s obvious.
