Fair

Whenever your friends or family members die it’s always a shock. Proximity matters here. If they are old and sick and their death is expected that’s one thing, but when people get sick and die unexpectedly in their 40s it can be even more jarring. I just saw him. He didn’t look sick. He was too young. He had a family. It’s not fair. All true. And all too common too. Fair. I never bought fair. The word always confused me and no one has ever been able to explain the concept to my satisfaction. It simply serves no useful purpose other than to mock.
